Summer in the Ötztal

Alps instead of palms – a holiday that brings you mountains!

With 250 peaks soaring over 3,000 meters, the Ötztal offers a stunning backdrop for an unparalleled summer experience filled with adventure and relaxation, wild waters and tranquil lakes. The new "Ötztal Premium Card" provides active vacationers with the perfect tool to explore the valley's diverse highlights in a personalized way – and it’s all included.

Attention summit conquerors:

The Alps present a challenging new Haute Route – the Ötztal Trek with 22 stages and 15 variations, featuring 30,000 meters of elevation gain and 400 kilometers of distance. The call of the Ötztal mountains can be answered not only by experienced alpine climbers or trained athletes but also by leisurely walkers or mountain bikers. Here in the Ötztal, everyone can discover their own personal highlights: 1,600 kilometers of marked hiking trails and 860 kilometers of biking paths weave through the heights, slopes, and valleys of the Ötztal.

Landscape full of colors and contrasts

A landscape full of colors and contrasts

The longest alpine valley in Tyrol invites its guests to explore the summer in all its diversity along the 67 kilometers between the Ötztal highway exit and the valley's end, home to the largest glacier area in the Eastern Alps. The eight Ötztal villages of Haiming, Sautens, Oetz, Umhausen, Längenfeld, Sölden, Vent, and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl each possess their unique charm, ranging from sporty and stylish to cosmopolitan or rustic, serene and dreamy.

Tyrol's tallest waterfall

The Stuibenfall cascades 159 meters down at Umhausen. Experience fresh summer vibes on the waterfall path or challenge yourself on the via ferrata with its foam and show effects on the platforms by the torrent. Adventurous white-water sports enthusiasts can experience the full drama of wild mountain waters on the Ötztaler Ache, in the Imster Gorge, or on the Inn – through trending activities like rafting or canyoning, as well as kayaking or canoeing.

The healing power of water

The healing power of water can be experienced at the "Aqua Dome," the spa in Längenfeld featuring relaxation and adventure pools for the whole family. For a more tranquil experience, you can swim or fish in and around the Piburger See near Oetz, a true natural gem and one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol.

We look forward to welcoming you!
